Friday Night Concert at Chiefswood Park

If you’re looking for something fun to do this Friday, come check out the Friday Night Pre-Wow Wow Concert at Chiefswood Park. The showcase will highlight Native singers and songwriters from Six Nations and has a fantastic line-up.

Show organizer Lacey Hill was invited by members of the Pow Wow Committee to organize the event. Acts include the Manitou Mkwa Singers, Chase Hill, Caleb Coates, Jeff Doreen, Lacey Hill, Blaine Bomberry, Logan Staats and The Bad Guys.
Hill says “Manitou Mkwa Singers are a personal fav! They bring the message of awareness and also honouring the murdered and missing Aboriginal women with their drums and voices.” Hill said there will also be other fantastic acts such as hip-hop artist Chase Hill who will be performing originals from his new album and Jeff Doreen will be performing Beatles songs in Mohawk.

Lacey Hill, whose beautiful voice and inspiring songs has earned her a large fan base across the territory, will also perform throughout the pow wow this weekend. Also, 2014 Aboriginal People’s Choice Award nominee Logan Staats – Logan Staats – lead singer of Ghost Town Orchestra will be performing throughout the weekend.
Doors open at 5:30 pm and entry to the show is by donation.
