Gelsey Sumner, a female high school student in Winnipeg, says that she was kicked off a bus for wearing a sweater with the message “Got Land? Thank An Indian” on it.

The story was picked up by APTN and social media lit up with people upset over the bus driver arbitrarily deciding what is appropriate.

Sumner has filed a complaint with the City of Winnipeg, and says that she believes that her complaint is not being taken seriously.

The family is irate as Gelsey was forced to walk home after being ordered off the bus in Winnipeg’s North End.

They are demanding that the City release the video footage taken by the security camera on the bus.
