Ontario’s Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, the Honourable Brad Duguid visited Six Nations last Thursday to drop in on Grand River Employment and Training during their March Open House. Accompanied by Arnie Bomberry, Erin Monture, Iris Wright, and Cathy Smith, Duguid took a tour of the facility and a walk around to all the various training programs and classes offered through the Ogwehoweh Skills and Trades Training Centre, Kayanase, Work Ready Aboriginal People program and others. According to Administrative Officer Erin Monture and OSTTC Academic Instructor Smith, the Minister was more than impressed with not only the wide range of programs and training available, but was especially pleased to see the cultural element present in all programs. Upon leaving, Duguid asked what he could do to help grow the programs further. (Photo by Jen Mt. Pleasant)
