Six Nations’ beloved Burger Barn is staging the “ultimate comeback story” after announcing it recently began rebuilding a brand-new restaurant.
After losing their original structure to a devastating arson in January 2025, the iconic restaurant is bouncing back.
“The ultimate comeback story starts now,” owners Jason and Celeste Hill announced. “We’re proud to announce that construction efforts have officially commenced at 3000 4th Line Road, Six Nations of the Grand River (Ontario). This major milestone marks the physical step in bringing our beloved restaurant back to life after we were forced to close due to a devastating arson fire.”
The restaurant has been operating out of a food truck on the property for the past two summers with a scaled-down menu while the owners worked tirelessly behind the scenes with architects and contractors.
“The sounds of construction equipment signal a triumphant new chapter for our business and the amazing customer base that has supported us through this challenge. Our goal remains clear: to return stronger than ever and continue serving our legendary home-made burgers, wings, fresh fries, shakes and desserts. We are deeply grateful for the patience and love you all have shown us, and we are working hard to fire up the grills as quickly as possible.”
Burger Barn became a national sensation after it opened 15 years ago and was even featured on The Food Network show You Gotta Eat Here. The restaurant is known for its rustic decor and creative burger combinations.
The restaurant was gutted by a fire officially deemed an arson on Jan. 25, 2025. Two days before the fire the restaurant was also hit by bullets in a drive-by shooting. The culprits have never been caught.
The Burger Barn welcomed thousands of visitors each year traveling along the busy Hwy. 6 corridor as well as locals who chose it as their favourite local burger joint.
While the restaurant is under construction, the food truck is still serving up fare from its parking lot on Fourth Line.
“We also sincerely appreciate your ongoing support of the food truck and we look forward to being able to offer you our full menu again,” the owners said.
