Bantam Intertown Reps lose a 3-2 heart breaker

OHSWEKEN – The Six Nation Bantam Intertown Reps fell one goal short in a very high intensity game Sunday afternoon at the Gaylord Powless Arena. In the first period, Twin Centres applied about 3 or 4 minutes of sustained pressure with Six Nations unable to clear the zone, but SN goaltender Doug Powless kept his team from falling behind early.

Number 16, Rycol Davis, scored both Six Nations goals, the first at 5:03 which was erased seconds later by Twin Centres’ Cole Bender. Matt Miller took an interference penalty and TC took advantage of the situation with the 2-1 go-ahead goal on the ensuing powerplay.

Davis netted his second of the game 10 seconds later to even the score at 2-2, which is how the first period ended.

Both teams fought hard in the third period with no scoring until, with 2:55 remaining TC’s Tyson Bolender scored what would stand as the winner. Six Nations came very close to tying it up again but Davis was given a checking from behind penalty and automatic game misconduct with 2:27 remaining, which lost the head of steam Six Nations was mounting at the time. TC held on for the 3-2 win.
