AFN Chief looking for action on promises

OTTAWA —National Chief of the AFN says Ottawa needs to make good on their promises to reconciliation with indigenous people. Chief Bellegarde commended Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s commitment to First Nations, and said the AFN is ready to see positive action for First Nations communities in the form of clean drinking water, investments in infrastructure

OTTAWA —National Chief of the AFN says Ottawa needs to make good on their promises to reconciliation with indigenous people.

Chief Bellegarde commended Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s commitment to First Nations, and said the AFN is ready to see positive action for First Nations communities in the form of clean drinking water, investments in infrastructure and quality on-reserve education

Trudeau agreed with the sentiment and said while verbal commitments are important, actions matter deeply.
