CALEDONIA — The Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs’ broom is getting warm this Jr. B Hockey post season. After dispatching Pelham, Niagara and St. Catharines, all in four game sweeps, the Corvairs are on the brink of a fourth consecutive sweep against the Waterloo Siskins Tuesday, April 19, unfortunately, the results will miss our deadline.
Caledonia took Game #1 from the Siskins by the score of 5-2, followed by a 6-5 Game #2 win and a 5-1 route in Waterloo in Game #3 in which Caledonia outshot 42-23, and out-chanced Waterloo all night long. Scoring for The Pro-Fit Corvairs were Mitchell Fitzmorris with two, Ryan Punkari, Tyler Hill, and Matthew Hore. They will face the winners of the Stratford/London series for the Sutherland Cup. Depending on how long that series goes
Should Caledonia win the series, they will be on the doorstep to history and could conceivably win their third consecutive Sutherland Cup, which has never been done before.
Waterloo and others have gone two in a row, but no one has managed three.
