Posterity Forever: The Loyalist Mohawk title Canada forgot

The Crown made specific, written promises to the Mohawk Nation and its Loyalist allies: land “which them and their posterity are to enjoy forever,” and a hereditary mark of honour (U.E.) for those who adhered to the unity of the Empire. The registries and processes to identify that posterity were never properly completed. Re-activating the Haldimand–Dorchester–Simcoe framework means rebuilding a hereditary registry and insisting that land and jurisdiction along the Grand River start from those original promises.
