Blue Devils boys Sr. basketball squad remain undefeated

CALEDONIA— The McKinnon Park Blue Devils Sr. Boys basketball team just keep on winning.

Coming off a season which saw them celebrate a zone championship, the Sr. Blue Devils have not slowed down this year as they recently remained undefeated at 3-0 after pulling out on Thursday, December 12th at home a 75-37 win against Dunnville.

“There are some big shooters,” Blue Devils Sr. Boys coach Geoff Cameron said. “We haven’t lost (regular season play) in three years.”

Among the sharp shooters on McKinnon Park, who continue to impress and are all business when they hit the court are Imani Mitten, Damonie Thomas and Colby Martin.

“Imani is a hard worker who loves the game,” Cameron said. Switching his thoughts to Thomas, the coach added, “Damonie has great court vision and is a good shooter. I want him to shoot more than he does.”

When it came to Martin, Coach Cameron stated, “He’s always a threat to hit a bunch of three pointers.”

Jumping out to a quick start, the Blue Devils sprinted to a 13-0 first quarter lead and were still comfortably out front 18-8 heading to the second.

The Blue Devils offence remained red hot as they refused to slow down and with some accurate passing, athleticism and sharp shooting managed to increase that margin to 31-16 before finding themselves on cruise control up 37-20 at halftime.

Amazingly they were doing all this without key player Jared John who currently finds himself on the injury list.

“Jared makes good decisions with the ball and is a good shooter and ball handler,” coach Cameron said.

Once again, the Sr. Blue Devils proved relentless as they built up a 54-31 third quarter lead and coasted to another key regular season win.
