SIX NATIONS – Six Nations Police were engaged in a high speed chase last Thurdsay when a black Trailblazer SUV heading southbound of Chiefswood Road was spotted.

Police followed the vehicle down Fifth Line over to Cayuga Road, where it drove into a field. Officers continued to chase the vehicle back to the bush line, where the driver abandoned the truck and fled on foot.

OPP Canine Units and the ERT team assisted in tracking the driver’s scent down Sixth Line, through the land at Kanohnstaton and up onto Braemar Drive in Caledonia. Police said they lost the scent near the Canadian Tire store on Argyle Street in Caledonia.

Police determined the vehicle was reported stolen to Brantford Police. The SUV was seized by police for further investigation.
