Brantford woman hit by train

BRANTFORD — The name of the 40-year-old woman pedestrian struck by a train in downtown Brantford still has not been released, however, she is listed as in “stable” condition as of Tuesday evening and remind at Hamilton General Hospital where she was immediately taken following the incident.

Police say the person was hit while walking in the area of Clarence St. and Colborne St. Thursday afternoon. The train was slowly reversing towards Colborne St. when contact was made between the woman and the train.

Clarence St. was closed for several hours for the investigation which is ongoing. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at 519-756-7050.
