OHSWEKEN — Six Nations Police say they are investigating a crash involving a driver who fled the scene.
On September 20, 2021, at approximately 6:02 PM, the London Communications Centre advised the Six Nations Police of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, involving 3 vehicles at a Second Line Road address. One of the drivers had fled the scene, on foot, and emergency medical services were dispatched.
Police arrived on scene and observed a grey GMC pick-up truck in the middle of the road with severe front end damage. Police observed a white Dodge Caravan with heavy rear end and driver’s side damage, which had struck a parked blue Kia in the parking lot.
Police spoke to the injured driver of the Caravan who advised that he was travelling westbound on Second Line Road, preparing to turn into the Second Line Road address, when he was rear ended on the road before making his turn. The force of the collision sent the Caravan across the entrance of the parking lot and into the north ditch, hitting a guard pole, and colliding with the unoccupied parked Kia.
The driver advised police that the driver of the pick-up truck exited his vehicle and ran westbound, fleeing the scene. Witnesses at the scene identified the fleeing driver of the truck. The driver of the Caravan was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Police continue to investigate and charges are pending.
