Fort Erie’s powwow set for March

FORT ERIE — The Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre will be hosting its mid-winter powwow on March 4.

The yearly event will see exhibition dancing and drumming, crafts, food vendors and other activities including a smoke dance special.

Grand Entry is scheduled for noon.

Announcements for Host Drum, Head Dancers and MC have not yet been announced.

The centre will also be hosting its Youth and Elders conference on March 9-10 as well as a Round Dance and Longhouse Social on the evenings of both days.

This is the first return to in-person events for both the pow wow and the youth and elders conference since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
