SIX NATIONS — December is a busy holiday month, but to fill the schedule with festive fun for students, Oliver M. Smith Elementary School will be hosting several events in the near future:
Currently running is the Mistletoe Market. The purpose of this market is to have students do chores to EARN money to shop rather than being given money to shop. Students have been saving their money to purchase secret presents for their loved ones for the holidays. Our We Stand club will be running the market and providing change for students during their shopping times. Students will be shopping from December 4-6.
On December 11th at 2 pm, our We Stand Club will be attending Iroquois Lodge at 2 pm.. The purpose of this trip is to assist wrapping presents for the elders. If time permits they will also be playing board games with them.
Our Winter concerts are in the evening this year. December 17 the primary ages will perform at 5 p.m., and December 18 at 5 pm the junior and intermediate ages will perform.
On December 10 we will be having a school skate at the Gaylord Powless arena. Grades 1-5 will be skating at 2:30-3:20 p.m. At 3:30 there will be a teacher vs. student game.
