New arrest in triple homicide; six in total now facing charges

OPP say a new arrest has been made in an ongoing triple homicide investigation at Six Nations.

Vern Shipman, 33 of Six Nations is now charged as an Accessory to Murder after the fact in the slaying of Melissa Miller, Al Porter and Micheal Jamieson.

Police say Shipman was arrested on March 28 and remains in police custody.

A publication ban remains in effect for the case.

So far six people in total are facing charges in the case. Kirsten Bomberry, and Vern Shipman of Six Nations along with Roland Sturgeon of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation all face Accessory to Murder charges.

Three Six Nations residents; Nicholas Shipman, Thomas Bomberry and Jaime Beaver all stand accused of second degree murder.
