New Credit council continues ‘open communication’ mandate

NEW CREDIT – New Credit council and chief met with Six Nations’ council and chief last week to discuss possibilities of working together on future projects.

Chief of New Credit R. Stacey LaForme said that the two councils are looking at setting up a structured process where they can focus on issues that would have mutual benefits for each community.

“It has been a long time since the two councils have met to talk,” says LaForme’s official Facebook page.

While campaigning for the Chief of New Credit position, LaForme was very adamant that open communication is vital to a successful term. Much of his platform was centred around being honest and open with the community and he currently has a very active Facebook profile that he uses to share with the community many aspects of what he does day-to-day in regards to his position as chief.

“There was a lack of communication during the last term,” Laforme told the Two Row times shortly after being elected chief. “I really want to build on communication, make the community feel unified and revitalize our nation.”
