OHSWEKEN – Six Nations Elected Council, Public Works and First Nations Engineering Services Ltd. would like to advise the community of two major infrastructure upgrades that began Monday, May 16 and will continue until mid-October.
The two construction upgrades will be at the intersection of Chiefswood Road and Fourth Line and will include the replacement of undersized, worn sections of the watermain, and the widening of Chiefswood Road for implementation of a left hand turning lane. The project will also include replacement of traffic lights, and the installation of pedestrian hand signals, and a cross-walk.
Work will be completed between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. No weekend work is anticipated at this time.
Throughout construction you can expect; one land traffic; traffic delays; noise; dust; a temporary all-way stop; and periods of service disruption to the water distribution system.
the anticipated completion date for the Ohsweken Infrastructure Upgrades Project is October 2016. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
