OPP assisting Six Nations Police in homicide

SIX NATIONS — The death of a 27-year-old Six Nations man on November 30 has been ruled a homicide with the Ontario Provincial Police assisting Six Nations Police in the investigation.

Six Nations Police were called to an area on Cayuga Road and Sixth Line Road known as Beaver’s Corner at 5:18 p.m. Monday night for a report of a shooting. Six Nations Paramedics and the Brantford Police Canine Unit also arrived at the scene.

Police found a 27-year-old man from Six Nations who was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene.

Police said two male suspects, who are known to the victim, fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Six Nations Police searched for the suspects Monday night and said there was no threat to the public. The suspects have yet to be located.

Police are not releasing the victim’s name but relatives of the victim posted memorial tributes to the young man on Facebook Tuesday.
