Santa comes to Iroquois Lodge

Santa came a little early this year for the 50 residents that make up Iroquois Lodge. Santa’s workshop was in full swing at the Lodge Thursday afternoon as Elves were busily wrapping gifts for the residents. Activity Coordinator, Theresa MtPleasant had this to say, “Grand River Enterprises (GRE) was most generous in donating money so each Elder will have a gift to open.” MtPleasant stated that each of the 50 residents will have between four and five presents to unwrap on Christmas Day.

Residents helping to wrap gifts this afternoon were Sally English, Tony Hill and Sandra Gagnon. Volunteers that were on hand to assist resident Elders were Donna Henhawk , Deanna Skye, Eleanor Hill, Wayne Garlow, Dorothy Patterson, Eva Tripp, Tom Martin, and Irma Martin. Resident Elders would like to thank the Shopping Elves who took great care in picking out the perfect presents for each resident: Denise General, Dawn Monture, Roberta Smith, Tracey Sowden-Hill and Danielle Kennedy.

All the Elders at Iroquois Lodge, along with staff and volunteers would like to send out a big Nya:weh to GRE for their generosity and contributions in making Christmas all the more wonderful and exciting this year.
