One sent to hospital in single vehicle crash

SIX NATIONS, ON –Six Nations Fire and Emergency services responded Sunday afternoon to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision near 1062 Onondaga Road in the Six Nations of the Grand River territory.

First arriving crews reported that a 4 door car had left the road way and appeared to have rolled over an unknown number of times before striking a tree. Confirmation was made that 1 unconscious male patient was trapped in the vehicle.

Working in conjunction with Six Nations Advanced Care Paramedics and Haldimand County Primary Care Paramedics, Six Nations Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and proceeded to conduct a very difficult rescue of the trapped patient.

Damage to the vehicle was extensive; multiple teams of firefighters with multiple hydraulic tools including Cutters, Rams & the Jaws of life were required to rescue the trapped victim.

A man of unknown age was transported to Hospital by Paramedics. The condition of the patient is unknown at this time.

Onondaga Road between 3rd & 2nd Line road remains closed with Six Nations Police on scene completing their investigation.
