Woman Violently Sexually Assaulted in Brantford

Brantford City Police are looking for tips after a 20 year old woman was violently sexually assaulted in Brantford last night.

Brantford City Police are looking for tips after a 20 year old woman was violently sexually assaulted in Brantford last night.

The attack took place on Dalhousie Street between Alfred Street and Park Avenue in between midnight and 1am. The victim was alone, and exited her parked vehicle carrying her purse and a cellphone, when she was approached from behind. The assailant brutally banged the victim’s head into the car, causing her to lose conciousness. The woman woke a short time later on the ground partially clothed and in disarray. She was able to call police at a nearby residence and was taken to hospital for medical care and observation.

The OPP Canine Unit attended to assist as it is unknown if the suspect fled on foot or by vehicle. There is no description of the assailant.

Investigators would like to speak to everyone who may have been in the area on Dalhousie Street between Alfred Street and Park Avenue shortly after midnight and 1:00 a.m. There is the possibility a citizen driving past the area, walking a dog, and/or visiting or living in a residence close by heard something suspicious or strange during this time frame.
