Letter from the Maplehurst Correctional Centre

January 8, 2018

Sago: Hello:

I am writing on behalf of the aboriginal population at Maplehurst Correctional Centre.

As you may know, the Brantford Jail has finally closed. The reason I am writing is because all of us at the jail have grown to love and look forward to getting a copy of the Two Row Times bi-weekly.

For some of us from Six Nations that do not get any contact with family, friends and what’s just happening in general in our community; your newspaper gives a lot of us just that bit of home that we may need to try to start to heal. Or just have a good laugh at all the interesting stories and articles you guys publish.

I would love to start the ball rolling and be put on your mailing list. And would like to finish by saying I have personally seen the impact that the Two Row Times has on everybody that comes into contact with it. And to me, that’s amazing.

Great job to all the men and women that make the Two Row Times possible.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Jeremy Porter
