Hagersville Hawks share first place

The Hagersville Hawks and Glanbrook Rangers are tied for first place in the NDJCHL after this week’s games.

Last Thursday night the Hawks were led by Domenic Evanelista who scored twice in Hagersville’s 5-2 win over the Niagara Riverhawks, at the Gale Centre in Niagara.

The Hawks took a 2-1 lead after the first period with goals scored by Michael Arch and Evangelista, and they never looked back. Shaun General and Dan Mederios added second period goal with Evangelista putting the final touches on the win. Niagara scored again but it would not change the outcome.

They followed that with a 4-2 Saturday night triumph over the Dundas Blues at home. Scoring for Hagersville were Brayden Hill, Matt Lemassuir, Austin Cairns, and Derek Friesen. Stephen Tiemey earned the win in the Hagersville net. Liam Buckley scored both Dundas goals.
