Hall of Fame to induct Bill Squire

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C.. — The Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame announced its pride in the 2018 class of inductees which includes Jim Lynch, veteran Jim Squires and now deceased Bill Squire of Six Nations.

Squire, who had an outstanding 18 year-long career in Senior ‘A’ and ‘B,’ played for Ohsweken, Brantford, Detroit, Six Nations, the Toronto Tomahawks and the Montreal Quebecois of the original National Lacrosse League. He earned a Presidents Cup in 1967, a second Presidents Cup and MVP trophy with Ohsweken in 1982, and a Mann Cup and MVP award in 1968 as a pick-up member of the Brooklin Redmen. Not only was he third in Ontario’s Major Series Lacrosse scoring in 1969, he also earned 169 point in regular season Senior games and tallied 477 points in 33 playoff games posted in 1979.

The formal induction banquet and ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 27 of this year at the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in the ANVIL Centre.
