Snipers set to open 2019 ALL season

SIX NATIONS — The Arena Lacrosse League 2019 lacrosse schedule is about to begin its third season of top competitive level men’s lacrosse in Ontario. And this year the stakes are higher after the ALL and the NLL reached a partnership arrangement that would see the league develop players for their teams, similar to how the American Hockey League supplies talent to the NHL.

The Arena Lacrosse League released its 2019 schedule with the Six Nations Snipers visiting the Toronto Monarchs Saturday, December 29 to get the 2019 season underway. The matinee game will take place at the TRAC in Oakville with a 2:00pm start. The night cap game has a rematch of the 2018 ALL Cup Championship game with the Paris RiverWolves looking to avenge a tight hard fought loss to the current ALL Champions Whitby Steelhawks. The RiverWolves will host the 8pm matchup at Syl Apps Community Centre in Paris. Sunday December 30th sees a doubleheader at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena with St. Catharines ShockWave hosting the Oshawa Outlaws at 1pm followed by a 4pm start for the hometown Six Nations Snipers playing the Peterborough Timbermen.

The Arena Lacrosse League schedule sees 49 regular season games with all games being played on either Saturday (34 games) or Sunday (15 games). “We looked at making our schedule more travel friendly for the players as the majority work Friday and sometimes getting to games can become a challenge” stated Arena Lacrosse League President Paul St. John. “We also want to open up our league to more players living in the United States and Eastern/Western Ontario and Quebec who can travel on a Saturday or Sunday to play, whereas a Friday night game would be a deterrent.”
