BRANTFORD – Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a rapidly growing sport in Ontario. New shows are popping up all over since Ontario legalized the sport. The Iroquois MMA Championships paved the way for MMA events here in Ontario, Canada.
MMA is now the fastest growing sport in the world. Six Nations has hosted nine pro MMA events on the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. Having such names as Dan the Beast Severn, Anderson the Spider Silva, Jason High and local hometown fighters Todd Kick and Chuck Monture who fought on the first pro sanctioned event in Ontario. With these events being held people are getting a chance to see local and future fighters compete in the cage.
On May 2, 2015, Brantford, Ontario will be hosting an MMA event. This will be the first amateur MMA show in Brantford, giving local fighters a chance to compete close to home and showcase their skills the fighters have been training hard to prepare for this event.
