Welcome back to another column of sports talk! A big “Get the job finished” goes out to our Sr A Six Nations Chiefs as they took a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Mann Cup over the visiting Coquitlam Adanacs this weekend. The Chiefs took down game #1 with an 8-2 victory, game #2 with a 10-6 victory, and won game #3 with a 13-9 victory. Game 4 is set for Tuesday September 15th just a few hours away, set for an 8pm game time start as the Chiefs look to get the series sweep and be crowned 2026 Mann Cup Champions for the fourth consecutive season. In NFL news, The Buffalo Bills finally got a win over the Houston Texans who have seemed to have their number over the past 6 games. Leading up to Sunday’s tilt between the Bills vs Texans, Josh Allen was 0-3 against the Texans in Houston. But the future goat led the Bills to a thrilling 36-31 road victory where Josh Allen went 20/29 on passes with 334 passing yards as well as 4 combined touchdowns, 2 on the ground and 2 through the air! New #1 Bills Wide Receiver DJ Moore also had an amazing first game as a Buffalo Bill where he caught 5 passes for 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. This week the Bills head back to Buffalo to host the Detroit Lions in their first ever game in their new $2.1 billion dollar Highmark Stadium. The Bills are currently a -4.5 favourite as of today. Let’s Go Bills! In last week’s pick em series, I made 5 picks. I said the Rams, Lions, Bills, Cowboys & Broncos would all win, and boy am I glad we are on to week # two of NFL Football because I did terrible and went just 2/5 on picks which is an abysmal 40% success rate. In NBA news, the Kawhi Leonard trade to the Toronto Raptors has officially gone through! Basketball season is about a month away so that is great news to have the 2019 NBA Champion back in the 6ix!
