OHSWEKEN – Melanie Johns is a sacred healer at Tehonwatish:nie Holistic Healing and wants to use the gifts she was given by Spirit to help those on the journey of their souls.

“I help people through their journey,” said Johns, who is also a Reiki Master and puts a lot of emphasis on Focus Intentional Techniques. “One of the most important values I impress here is to believe in who you are not.”

Her Onkwehonwe name is Tehonwatish:nie, which means “she takes care of everyone” and in her business that has been open for less than one year, that’s exactly what she tries to do.

She practices from an extensive list of accolades and certificates she has received throughout the years and is open to learning new modalities or therapeutic methods to help anyone in need.

Johns recalled a time she felt the urge from Spirit to go to Mexico and that on this trip of self-discovery she would be gifted with an item that would aid in her work back home. She met another spiritual healer there and was gifted with two feathers — one condor feather and one eagle feather.

“These feathers were given to me so I could help people here too,” she said.

The feathers are part of an ancient Amazon prophecy, speaking of human societies that split into two paths. The path of the condor is the path of heart, intuition and the feminine, while the path of the eagle is that of the mind, science, the industrial and the masculine.

“I was told to use the condor feather on women to wipe their eyes so their eyes could be cleared and ears could be clear,” she said. “And it’s just a very interesting connection that I was also gifted the eagle feather so I could do the same for the men I treat.”

Johns said that she has been through challenges of her own, but through forgiveness and bravery she is on her way to overcome them.

“I’m just like everybody else — I’ve got my own hurts, pains and self-doubts,” she said. “Sometimes I doubt that I may not be trained enough to heal someone or be their support, but then I remind myself that I am good enough and that this is my purpose.”

Tehonwatish:nie Holistic Healing offers intuitive readings, spiritual energy healing, Focused Intentional Techniques, Reiki, addictions counselling and more.
