BRANTFORD – After carrying the top spot nearly all season, the Brantford Blast of the Sr. AAA Allan Cup Hockey League finished their regular season in third place behind the Dundas Real McCoys and the Whitby Dunlops. The McCoys jumped into first place last week and held on this week with a 7-3 win over the Blast in Dundas, Friday night.
CALEDONIA – Like they say in sports, it ain’t over ‘till it’s over. But sometimes even then it ain’t over. Such is the case of the Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs.
OHSWEKEN – The Port Dover Pirates left the Gaylord Powless Arena with a 7-0 hole in their ship Saturday after Six Nations had their way with the visitors.
OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations Intertown Novice’s scored with 58 seconds remaining to win 3-2 over the visiting Simcoe #1 team at the GPA, Saturday.
OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations Intertown Midgets took on the Burford Coyotes Saturday and came out with a 3-2 win at the Gaylord Powless Arena. Neither team could score in the first period but Six Nations’ Riley Jamieson broke the ice early in the second period.
CALEDONIA – In a rare Monday night game in Fort Erie, the Corvairs crushed the Meteors 7-0 while outshooting them, 46-14. Cory Brown led the offence with two goals and two assists.
OHSWEKEN – After taking game #1 of the series by a score of 5-0, the South Bruce Mildman Monarchs came to the Gaylord Powless Arena Saturday afternoon and left with a 2-0 lead in the playoff series by outscoring Six Nations Bantam Reps 3-1. It was Game #2 of a six point series.
BRANTFORD – It was a chance to fatten up individual statistics as well as try and regain first place in the Allan Cup Sr. AAA standings when the Brantford Blast went to Norwood, Sunday evening.
Saturday, the Six Nations Intertown PeeWee’s dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker to Norwich at the GPA. Six Nations’ # 8 Luke Martin, came within a breath of scoring on Norwich goaltender Jacob Orty who made several game winning saves throughout the game. OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations OMHA Novice’s took Game 2 of Round 2 of the round robin playoffs Saturday at the Gaylord Powless Arena with a well deserved 3-2 win over the visiting Port Dover Pirates.
CALEDONIA – In front of a large crowd at the Haldimand Centre Arena in Caledonia, the Caledonia Corvairs suffered a 4-3 overtime loss against the second place St. Catharines Falcons, Saturday night.
BRANTFORD – If there had been any concerns about the offensive output of the Brantford Blast as of late, those concerns were put to rest Friday night at the Brantford and District Civic Centre.
OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations Novice squad lost a 6-3 decision to the visiting Twin-Centre Stars Sunday afternoon at the GPA in Southern Counties playoff action.
