Actor Leonardo DiCaprio’s Earth Alliance foundation announced it is donating $5 million dollars to help indigenous people affected by fires in the amazon.
The Amazon Forest Fund will go to five organizations to help indigenous victims of the three week long natural disaster.
Brazil has seen an 85% spike in forest fires this year up from 2018. Officials say over 80,000 fires were burning across the country as of Sunday night. Government officials in Brail declared a state of emergency in the region earlier this month.
