Seeing Red is introducing Karlene Familo to the 2026 Runway of Rezilience designer lineup.
On social media this week Seeing Red announced, “Karlene Familo is an emerging Seneca fashion designer from the Allegany Territory. She made her runway debut at the Seneca Niagara Indigenous Fashion Show in November 2024. She has since showcased her collections at fashion events in New York City and Canada, with one of her designs now featured in an exhibition at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo.”
The “Evolution” Collection embodies her self-expression and the artistic growth of her design career. This collection seamlessly combines contemporary Iroquois beadwork designs while showcasing elements such as oceanic shells, red stone, and traditional quillwork reflecting the historical trade networks of Haudenosaunee People.
