Man self-inflicts stab wound after argument with roommate

SIX NATIONS – Six Nations Police attended a First Line Road address Monday afternoon in response to a report of a man who had been stabbed in the chest.

There they found a 48 year old male with an 18 inch machete sticking out of his torso, approximately 8-10 inches inside the male’s stomach.

Police investigation determined the male, who is a tenant at the residence, became argumentative with his roommate after he was denied permission to smoke in the residence.

The male admitted to stabbing himself with the machete and then wrapped the blade with some cloth. Police and paramedics observed a large amount of blood on his stomach and under his body. The male was transported to hospital by Ambulance, where he was admitted for medical attention.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the males behaviour.
