For the second time this year, Erlind’s restaurant in the Iroquois Plaza was the target of a smash and grab by thieves. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, Aug. 14.
At around 2 a.m. two male individuals pulled up in front of the restaurant in a pick-up truck. They smashed the front door glass, grabbed the cash register and sped off. It is the same method used in another break-in at Erlind’s earlier this year.
The thieves got away with a whopping $2 and left behind fingerprints and good visual evidence as recorded by the new surveillance equipment Erlind’s installed after the earlier theft.
The empty cash register was found in the parking lot.
Police continue to investigate but would appreciate any tips from anyone who may have seen or heard something.
