OHSWEKEN – Students, basketball teams and artists were celebrated at last night’s Six Nations
Elected Council (SNEC) awards presentation.
The presentations took place at the community hall, before SNEC’s general meeting. The awards presented were — The Ruby Sears Award, Awesome; Excellent; and Perfect Attendance Awards, High Average Awards and Making Strides Awards.
Councillor Helen Miller presented Thomas Anderson a recognition plaque for his recent successes in art and having his design selected to be painted on the Brantford Library and she also presented the Six Nations U19 Basketball Team with a plaque for their success.
Councillor Wray Maracle presented the Arrows Lacrosse team with a plaque for having won the Minto Cup for the fifth time, a franchise first. The awards for the students came with a certificate and monetary contribution.
