Man, 21, charged with first degree murder following shooting on powwow grounds

GREENSTONE, Ont. _ Provincial police say a 21-year-old has been charged in the death of a man who was shot on the powwow grounds of a northwestern Ontario reserve.

Investigators say a fight broke out at about 1 a.m. on Friday in Aroland First Nation.

They say officers with the provincial force and the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service arrived at the scene and found a man with serious injuries.

Police say the man died at the scene, and a post-mortem has been scheduled for Monday.

Investigators say another man at the scene was arrested.

He faces a charge of first-degree murder.
