Annual Cross-country meet brings brightness to a dark rainy day

The Six Nations/New Credit District cross-country meet took place October 1st in Chiefswood Park. It was a rainy and dark day, but the spirits of the youth involved were bright and happy.

The competition began with the junior kindergarten class, separated into boys and girls, all the way up to the grade 8 students.

Students were full of enthusiasm and seemed quite happy to have a day out of the classroom. Donte VanEvery, attending Oliver M. Smith, says: “It was good, and I ran really fast!”

The rain didn’t slow down the day’s events, and the exciting chaos of hundreds of youth running around filled the air.

A young girl Azara, shyly notes she almost fell but that “It was nice to race.”
