Atom loses to Plattsville Rage

OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations Atoms lost to the Plattsville Rage 6-2 after a lot of disconnection and mispositioned defence on Sunday, March 6.

The first two goals went to the Rage, but Asher Martin was able to return one goal with the help of Dayton Jamieson. But to the dismay of many in the crowd, the Rage scored two more, taking advantage of the space in front of the Atoms net.

The second period opened up for a lot of opportunity for the Atoms, but Rage Goalie Ryan Arsenault wouldn’t allow them to score too easily. But, after a lot of trying, Romyn Monture scored unassisted. But, this goal was answered as well.

The third period showed that the Atoms didn’t have much gumption to win, after a series of shots were blocked by Arsenault. The Atoms tried harder on defence, but a lot of their missteps were taken advantage of and this led to sixth goal for the Rage.

The game ended 6-2, with several of the Atoms coming out to pat their Goalie Ashlee LaForme for her effort.

Cutline Atom1: A perfect set up for defence, that only came when the Atoms seemed ready to start making a dent on the score board.

Cutline Atom2: Left with an open net, Romyn Monture scored his first goal of the game with a swift flick.
