It started out as a close game with neither side taking control throughout the first period, which ended in a 0-0 tie. Burford came very close to scoring late in the period, but Six Nations goalie Kade Anthony, an AP call up who had just finished his Novice game earlier, made a great glove save to keep Burford off the score sheet.

Six Nations exploded with five goals in the second. The barrage began at 1:12 of the 10-minute period with Blair Green hammering home a rebound from the slot, assisted by Dayton Sawyer and Nic Miller.

Daman Decaire made it 2-0 with a high wrist shot that Burford goalie Brandon Turner got a piece of but not enough.

Maybe the prettiest goal of the game was Brenden Anderson’s first as he spun around a Burford defender to get a clear shot on net, which he made no mistake on. Sawyer added another at 7:46 on a 2-on-0 breakaway, assisted by Miller.

With 1:55 remaining in the period, Decaire wristed one from the point through heavy traffic in front of the Burford goal, assisted by Sawyer.

Burford spoiled Anthony’s bid for a shut-out with 54 seconds remaining in the second stanza, scored by Burford’s Luke Jackson and assisted by Josh Regli.

Six Nations poured in three more in the third period, all three scored by Anderson. Nolan Jonathan assisted on the first one while the other two were unassisted.
