OHSWEKEN — The Sr. B Rivermen of Six Nations took a 2-0 lead in Saturday night’s 6-4 win over the visiting Kitchener-Waterloo Velocity with goals scored by Danton Miller and Rayce Vyse. Vyse is returning to the game after a few years off, and joins his first cousin Roger with the 2017 President Cup finalist Rivermen.

Roger Vyse made it 3-0 within the first minute of second period, from Rayce and Brendan Muise, but KW came on with back-to-back goals by Josh Fenton and Richard Haan cut the Six Nations lead to 3-2.

Tory Gardner and Joe Maracle Jr. restored the distance between them at 5-2, but once again, the Velocity brought it back to 5-4, by 4:08 of the third. That’s when Joe Maracle netted the final goal of the game from Roger Vyse and Rodd Squire for the 6-4 Rivermen win, their second in as many starts.

The Rivermen are in Oakville Sunday, May 13th, at 7 pm, at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre with their only game of the week.
