The Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax) is pleased to announce its Players of the Week for week two of the 2015 Season.
Offensive Player of the Week: Michael Teeter – Barrie Blizzard – Teeter was a key player in Barrie’s first win of the season netting four goals and one assist. Teeter joined the Blizzard this week after Colin Boucher was signed to a 1-year contract with Vancouver Stealth of the NLL.
Honourable Mention: Corey Fowler – Niagara Lock Monsters – Fowler was able to rack up three goals and two assists for the Lock Monsters.
Defensive Player of the Week: Thomas Hoggarth – Durham Turfdogs – Hoggarth was solid on defence causing a number of turnovers. Hoggarth also added his first goal of the season this weekend.
Honourable Mention: Jake Henhawk – Ohsweken Demons – Henhawk made 28 saves in his first game of the season, which included some crucial stops in the final minutes to secure a Demons’ win.
Transition Player of the Week: Tom Montour– Ohsweken Demons – Montour picked up two goals and four assists; he was instrumental in sparking a fourth quarter rally.
Honourable Mention: Dylan Goddard – Durham Turfdogs – Goddard was a key part of the Turfdogs transition game picking up two goals and one assist.
Rookie of the Week: Mark Vradenburg – Niagara Lock Monsters – The 2nd round pick in the 2014 Entry Draft recorded a hat trick and added an assist, making a big impact for the Lock Monsters.
Honourable Mention: Josh Becker – Ohsweken Demons – Becker showed that he is well suited for CLax in his season debut generating numerous scoring chances and playing stellar defence.
