TORONTO – Ontario is making major investments in combatting human trafficking.

This as a part of the provinces’ commitment to end violence against women.

Recent statistics show that 65 per cent of Canada’s reported human trafficking cases originated in Ontario.

A $72 million commitment was made to the provincial anti-human trafficking strategy — including establishing community supports, increasing funding for investigation and prosecution and developing culturally relevant indigenous led programs and services.
