Demonstrators Set Up Frack Site Outside B.C. Premier Home

Noting B.C. Premier Christy Clark’s support for fracking, demonstrators with the Vancouver Coast Salish Rising Tide group set up a mock fracking site protest outside of her home this past Sunday.

The protest was quickly pulled down by authorities, but not before demonstrators made their point and images of the mock fracking site went viral.

The tactic polarized opinion on social media, with many supporting the right of the Premier to privacy.

Those in favor of the action noted the destruction that fracking has on the environment and the way in which projects are being forced on unceded Onkwehon:we territory and responded with – “what’s the difference?”
