Prime Minister meeting with Indigenous leaders on climate change

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is meeting with First Nations, Inuit, and Metis leaders in Vancouver today to discuss climate change.

The meeting between the Prime Minister, the Premiers, and Indigenous leaders is part of the follow up to the commitments made on climate change last year in Paris. The discussion will focus on the opportunity for Canada to become a leader in the global clean growth economy, and to responsibly deliver on our climate commitments while delivering real benefits for Canadians.

Trudeau said he is looking forward to working with the Premieres toward a greener, more sustainable Canadian economy. And that consulting with indigenous people on climate change will help develop policies that protect land, air and water for future generations.
