Highway #6 crash takes two Six Nations lives
SIX NATIONS — A crash at the intersection of Highway #6 and Fifth Line Road took the lives of two men and severely injured a third just outside of Caledonia at around 1:45 early Monday morning. A black pickup truck broadsided a southbound transport truck at the intersection when it appears the pickup did not stop at the stop sign.
Star Dancers summer camp a huge hit with participants

Ontario Changes to Methadone Program a Mistake, BC Patients Warn.
Ontario’s 40,000 methadone patients are being switched to a new formulation of methadone, a medication prescribed to treat opiate addiction. Patients in BC were switched on to the new product – called Methadose – earlier this year. The results are proving problematic. Many patients are reporting that the new methadone doesn’t hold them until their next dose. They wind up in withdrawal, back in the cycle of sickness and craving from which they fought to escape. Some are relapsing back to heroin.

Plight of MMIW added to Haldimand/Norfolk school curriculum
A small group of agencies from Haldimand and Norfolk counties as well as people from Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation (MNCFN) and Six Nations, are collaborating on a project that will bring the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, into the school curriculum. Using the Faceless Dolls project, which was created by the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) to help raise awareness on the alarming statistics of violence against Indigenous women, the group got together last Friday to assemble the faceless dolls.
