A photo went viral this week of a men wearing hoods while standing around an American flag and holding up the corpse of a dead wolf. The hunters represent a small hunting lobby in Wyoming who have fought efforts to reintroduce wolves – after near extinction in the area – as an unwelcome sign of foreign intrusion. The image clearly has parallels to the KKK and the hunters themselves are not shy about relating their desires to “eradicate” the wolves to their far right political agendas. The image elicits a strong emotional response with the majority on social media having no sympathy for the hunters and their cause.
