SIX NATIONS – General managers and coaches took a closer look at some of their Jr. B hopefuls at the ILA during Saturday’s tournament which hosted teams from K-town, Point Edward, and Windsor, besides themselves.
BRANTFORD – The Brantford Blast led the Dundas Real McCoys’ two games to one heading into Sunday afternoon’s ACH playoff game at the Brantford and District Civic Centre.
CALEDONIA – The battle between the Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs and the St. Catharines Falcons may well be the best series of the year, as many predicted it would be. The Falcons and the Corvairs have been fighting for GOJHL supremacy all season and now the number one and number two seed clubs go nose to nose in the Western Conference title in their quest for the Sutherland Cup.

TORONTO – Six Nations’ boxer, Cher Obediah-Blasdell won the Gold Medal for her 57K weight class at the Silver Gloves Tournament held this past weekend at the Dawn Valley Parkway Hotel, in Toronto.
BUFFALO – Not that he really had to prove himself, but Garden River First Nation’s Ted Nolan made a lot of heads turn when he led team Latvia in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Team Latvia made it to the quarterfinals for the first time ever under Nolans leadership.
BRANTFORD – Nobody seriously expected either team to sweep the best of seven Allan Cup Hockey League final series especially between the Brantford Blast and the Dundas Real McCoys.
ST. CATHARINES – In Week 8, the Barrie Blizzard (4-4) won their fourth straight game 15-9 over the SouthWest Cyclops (2-6) to clinch third place on the season.
CALEDONIA – The Corvairs got past the Thorold Black Hawks last Wednesday night in convincing fashion with a 6-1 win to advance to the Conference Finals against the St. Catharines Falcons, beginning Tuesday night, March 25, at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

BRANTFORD – Six Nations woman boxer and National Bronze Medalist, Cher Obediah Blasdell, faced her most challenging opponent twice this month.
BRANTFORD – A strong third period ended a seesaw battle at the Brantford and District Civic Centre, Friday night in Game 6 of the Allan Cup Hockey league semi-finals.
CALEDONIA – After tripping over the starting gate in the GOJHL semi-finals by dropping Game #1, 3-2, in Caledonia on Tuesday Mar. 11th, and requiring OT to win Game #2, 2-1, the Pro-Fit Corvairs began looking more like the team they have been all season on Sunday night in Caledonia.
TORONTO – Powered by an 11 point outburst by Cody Jamieson, the Rochester Knighthawks slipped by the Toronto Rock, 17-12, in a come-from-behind thriller at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Saturday night, to keep the third place Rock at bay and the next day, in Philadelphia, moved into a first place tie with the Buffalo Bandits with an 11-7 win over the Wings.
The Barrie Blizzard spoiled the Ohsweken Demons’ perfect season in their last game before the playoffs, at the ILA Saturday night in a surprising 16-14 win over the first place Demons.
