The Six Nations Minor Hockey Association is hosting the 43rd Little Native Hockey League tournament, which opened at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Sunday evening with pomp and pageantry, speeches and a great lineup of musical talent.
SIX NATIONS – You would have to know the C-Lax rulebook well to follow Saturday’s 14-10 win by the Ohsweken Demons over the visiting Durham Turfdogs.
ONONDAGA NATION – The Iroquois Nationals are proud to post a spring roster of players that will make up its 2014 Iroquois Nationals field lacrosse team. The finalized version of the team roster is to be announced in June, as the Iroquois Nationals prepare for competition at the 2014 Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships in Denver, Colorado.
BRANTFORD – The Brantford Blast stand one win away from the ACH Championship and a berth in the Alan Cup Championships after a 3-2 overtime win over the Whitby Dunlops, Saturday night, in Whitby.
OHSWEKEN – A parent, reported to have been drinking, turned a minor hockey game into a near brawl at the Gaylord Powless Arena Saturday afternoon. Parents and fans of the visiting Glanbrook Bantams were loud but generally well behaved until a series of penalties were called on Glanbrook players. At that point tempers began to flare and one visiting fan was ejected from the arena by the referee.
SIX NATIONS – Back-to-back wins this past weekend vaulted the Ohsweken Demons into a four-point hold on first place ahead of the Niagara Lock Monsters in Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax) action.

BRANTFORD – After carrying the top spot nearly all season, the Brantford Blast of the Sr. AAA Allan Cup Hockey League finished their regular season in third place behind the Dundas Real McCoys and the Whitby Dunlops. The McCoys jumped into first place last week and held on this week with a 7-3 win over the Blast in Dundas, Friday night.
The Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax) announced its Week Three Players of the Week for the 2014 Season, and a lot of familiar names were recognized.
CALEDONIA – Like they say in sports, it ain’t over ‘till it’s over. But sometimes even then it ain’t over. Such is the case of the Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs.
BARRIE – The Ohsweken Demons, with Travis Hill working the bench duties, had their way with the Barrie Blizzard Sunday afternoon, both on the floor and in the ally, in Barrie.
OHSWEKEN – The Port Dover Pirates left the Gaylord Powless Arena with a 7-0 hole in their ship Saturday after Six Nations had their way with the visitors.
OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations Intertown Novice’s scored with 58 seconds remaining to win 3-2 over the visiting Simcoe #1 team at the GPA, Saturday.
TORONTO – The Rochester Knighthawks won their first road game this season, handing the Toronto Rock a 17-9 loss on Saturday at the Air Canada Centre.
OHSWEKEN – The Six Nations Intertown Midgets took on the Burford Coyotes Saturday and came out with a 3-2 win at the Gaylord Powless Arena. Neither team could score in the first period but Six Nations’ Riley Jamieson broke the ice early in the second period.
